Orange County - Gwen rocks!

Best freaking concert EVER!

Ok, soze Cathy, Katherine, and I went to our long-awaited Gwen Stefani - Sweet Escape Concert tonight.

Lady Sovereign and Akon opened. LS was cute and interesting. Then Gwen came out, and she was, of course, amazingly wonderfully awesome.

In between scenes, the girls and I discussed whether she would perform any No Doubt songs. I had heard that she didn't perform any on this tour, but we were saying how awesome it would be if she did - especially because she was performing her in OC.

Gwen was awesome - she even ran out into the crown and up to the second level of seats and performed "cool" from there.

She did keep talking about how awesome it was to be performing back home in Orange County. But - No Doubt songs? It was too much to hope for, right?

SO the concert ends, and a few losers who wanted to beat the crowds start rushing out - but most people are still cheering - hoping for an encore. The lights had not come back on yet, so we were hopeful... but it was taking a very long time...

Jokingly, I said to Cathy and Katherine, "Chh... probably because they need to set up the band..." and we all kinda moaned like a "wishful thinking" groan...

Then the stage lights came on...

and the band started playing the intro to... "I'm just a Girl..."

and Not Gwen's solo band - the actual BAND - No Doubt! Tony, Tom and Adrien (wearing nothing but his underwear, of course!!!)there, playing to intro to "just a girl"

Oh my GOD!!!! Cathy and Katherine and I jumped and danced and hugged and screamed - so freaking excited! My throat probably wouldn't be remotely as sore if it weren't for No Doubt coming out... I sang the lyrics to all three songs. Loudly.

"Surprise - Orange County!" Gwen yells for us! The first time the band has performed together in years! Music history in the making, folks! Complete with "No Doubt" plastered across the scene behind them!

They performed "I'm just a Girl," "It's my life," and "Spiderwebs"

So. freakin. rad.

It felt so cool to be a part of that - to be special because we are Orange County, her hometown, the band's home town - my home town!

I LOVE NO DOUBT!
